The company name Fuji comes from the name of the founder, Tatsujiro Ikeshita's wife. Tatsujiro, who spent his childhood at Mount Koya, a sacred place for Japanese Buddhism, placed great importance on the word "Fuji" (the awareness that oneself and others are united) and included it in the company name when he founded the company. This idea eventually blossomed into the company's motto, "Heart and Mind".
